Looking for help from the wise sages on here please

As per title does anyone know where this is located in the car. My indicators packed up a few weeks ago and the car is with an Auto electrician to have it sorted (yes I know I know I should do it myself, but I dont have a garage and its cold!) but he can't find the relay unit, there are some relays in the passenger footwell but apparantly not this one

Suggestions welcome

On my S3 the flasher unit is under the dash to the right of the steering column

Thanks for the quick response, I should have said it was an S3!

The chap claims it is not there though, any other likely locations, also, I assume it is a standard Ford relay unit?

I have seen it tucked well away behind the top of the carpet on the extreme right of the drivers footwell. Should be possible to trace the wires down from the switch, they are bound together on my S1, and taped to the steel work where the steering column mounting is. On another car they had been tucked over the end of a trim panel to the left of the drivers footwell! Could be completely different on an S3!! Does it click once as the circuit is made, if so it might be possible to trace it by sound?

Mine was zip-tied to the steel bracing bar, just above the steering column. Very difficult to see and get at. But, yes, could be anywhere! laugh

Oh, Oh, hasnt had a fancy alarm fitted has it? One which flashes the indicators as well as sounding the horn? Came across one 2 years ago (not on a TVR) which had a similar system and the indicator relay was wired to the system and had been relocated. If so, my head would hurt too much and I would call in an auto electrician!

He has no idea, but says he didnt hide it, I'm not sure though, it may be a cunning plan (so cunning you could pin a tail on it and call it Bob) to get it back to WSM I think smile

Glad you found it and that the relay was the problem but come on Adrian, spill the beans, where did you find it?

Get some fitted to your "winter toy" (i.e. S3) now then swap onto bike in summer. Trust me, getting more use from them will help to make the expense easier to justify silly

It was apparently located across the steering cross memner on the drivers side, wherever that is smile
